Mark 10:32-34 – A Third Time

Read Mark 10:32-34

Jesus gives his disciples a little more detail about what is going to happen to him. Jesus is doing his best to prepare them so that when the time comes, they aren’t blindsided or overtaken by fear.

What did you notice about this passion prediction? Jesus was walking ahead of them, leading the way to Jerusalem. I’m sure all of them knew the way, but the text lets us know that Jesus is out front. Jesus knows exactly what he is walking into when they get to Jerusalem, and this is his third attempt to get his followers to understand, too.

1 Corinthians 15:1-11 – Jesus Isn’t Dead

Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Paul is now addressing the fourth and final big issue the Corinthians were struggling with. Don’t we all wish for a “Paul” to send us a letter personally dealing with the issues that are plaguing us right now? (Good news – we have the Bible with plenty of answers!)

Resurrection. What do you think about it? Most of us, if not all, have never witnessed it. Wrapping our heads around such a miracle of life and death can be tough. Is the resurrection of Jesus just one of those things that you totally accept because of your deep faith and relationship with God?

John 20:1-31 💚 Experience the Resurrection

Read John 20:1-31

It’s always good to remember Jesus’ resurrection. It’s one of the key passages to our faith. Notice that Jesus told his disciples what would happen, but they were still surprised when it did. Doesn’t that speak volumes of the integrity in Jesus’ promises to us as well?

Who do you most identify with in this passage? Mary Magdalene, Simon Peter, the disciple Jesus loved (presumably John), Thomas, or the disciples in general? How do you respond to the news of Jesus’ resurrection?
