I would not want to be compared to Jesus, I would fall flat on my face. Even though I try every day to be more and more like him. As we all should. Then there’s Adam. He really messed up. Thanks to him, we all have the curse of sin on our heads.
Although, in Adam, we have a good example of what not to do. We know from watching Adam’s faux pas that we should listen to God. God has the best plan for us. We mess things up when we try to make our way without God. When we listen to the lies of the world (Satan) we are just setting ourselves up for failure and sin.
Did you have any “a-ha” moments as you were reading today’s text? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
When you contrast Jesus and Adam, you see how God made right what was wrong in the world. It’s like having the cure for a deadly disease. We are all going to die, but to die without hope of eternity must surely be frightening. For those who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior the future is bleak.
Not to mention life itself. How much more meaningful and enjoyable it is to be in a relationship with our Creator. We never have to feel alone. In the highs and lows, we have a companion and friend, as I talked about in my last post.
Let this promise fill you today: “So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” How do you respond to that?
Listen to this song “Your Grace Still Amazes Me” HERE.
Let’s pray. Lord, I am amazed once again with your grace. How you can love me as much as you do? You have saved me and healed me. I give you my heart. I lift my arms to you in gratitude and praise! Fill me with the grace I need for this day. Show me who you want to touch with your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
