Here we go again. This time is frogs. God continues to work through Moses to free his people from their bondage. And, once again, the magicians follow suit. These plagues are not pleasant experiences for anyone in Egypt. Can you imagine frogs everywhere, jumping around, making noise, leaving their own mark? It wasn’t an enjoyable thing to be sure.
Here we see God clean up after himself (and the magicians). Part of his miracle was killing off all the frogs that had infested their lives. The Egyptian magicians weren’t found doing the same activity of riddance. We also see Pharaoh frustrated. He even called for Moses and Aaron and told them to remove these frogs.
Of course, Moses and Aaron aim to please. They did, indeed, cause the infestation of frogs to end in their demise. But that led to a new problem. The stench of dead animals. Not pleasant to be sure. I suppose we choose our battles. We put up with something unpleasant or find a solution. Perhaps the solution will only solve a portion of the existing problem. It comes down to what we can tolerate.
God did cause the frogs to die. What situation in your life right now are you asking God to take away from you? Is it relational, financial, or something else? We all have stuff that is holding us back or keeping us stuck. Our relationship with our creator also suffers from all this new stuff. It’s best to try and disassociate from all of the negative thoughts. We need to be ready to shine and to serve.
Let’s pray. Lord, I thank you that you have instilled in me a desire to serve. It is more a part of my own journey than most other programs these days. We all strive to live in God’s will. There are some great individuals who are clarifying this side of our business. God is alive and well and working in each of us. You might ask him how he is using you today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
