We are part of God’s mysterious plan. It was kept hidden until God chose to reveal it to Paul. As followers of Jesus, we share in the same blessings God’s chosen people have been given. When we believe in the Good News, that is in Jesus’ saving grace, we are given access to God.
When you understand the history and how people feared God, we can see how this is a really big deal. Jesus has come and revealed himself to us as God. We now have great treasures available to us. Do you have a hard time believing it?
God knew from the beginning we would be disobedient. So, he chose not to reveal the full plan to us until we were ready. Many of us are still not ready to hear and accept that plan. God’s perfect plan includes the glorious power we have available to us.
We can now “come boldly and confidently” into God’s presence. We don’t need to wait for the priests who used to be the only ones with authority to come into God’s presence. We can all pray. We can all praise. We can all listen for God to speak to us. God is accessible. He wants a relationship with us. He yearns for it.
What are you doing to nurture your relationship with God? How do you nurture relationships with your friends and family? Spending time with them is a good way to start. You can learn a lot about one another by having good two-way conversations. If you want to know something, you ask. When you want to share something that means a lot to you, you share. The same can happen with God. He wants to hear from us. We also need to wait and listen for him to respond.
Think of ways you can strengthen your relationship with your creator. Be sure to remember God is your best friend.
Let’s pray. Lord, I want to know you more. I want to hear your voice. Help me to know that the path I’m on is the right one for me. I know you have the perfect plan for each of us, and I want to be obediently listening for you. I am feeling the overwhelm of life’s challenges, but, at the same time, I am energized knowing you are in control. Walk with me and show me the way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
