Galatians 4:8-31 – Correction or Consolation?

Read Galatians 4:8-31

Paul illustrates in this letter how easy it is to fall back into old habits and ways, despite having once chosen to follow Jesus. While temptations will come, Paul wants to stress the importance of not falling away. It seems like he’s taking responsibility because it is happening to someone he introduced to Jesus in the first place.

Paul didn’t want all his hard work to be for nothing, but beyond that, he didn’t want those people to become “slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world.” Weak and useless is a great way to describe what many people rely on for their “spirituality,” or belief system. Acts 14:1-28 – A Divided Audience

Read Acts 14:1-28

Job 37:14-24 – Reverence

Read Job 37:14-24

None of us has a clue about “how” God does anything. The fact that God is crazy about us and loves us should boggle any mind. Our own feeble minds can’t begin to fathom the supremeness of God.

Were those unfair questions to Job? They seemed a little odd and out of the blue. I’m not sure where Elihu is taking his rant anymore. It seems like his focus on God’s power has now shifted. It’s as if Elihu thinks Job has some special knowledge or “in” with God. Continue reading “Job 37:14-24 – Reverence”
