Wisdom has been around for a long time. “The Lord formed me from the beginning, before he created anything else.” Wisdom was with God in creation. She had a front row seat to watch everything take its place. She saw the heavens being set in place, the clouds, the seas. How magnificent that must have been! To be with God in that time and place was quite an honor.
Wisdom has been in the presence of God. Wisdom is from God and can be trusted. There are a lot of things in this world that cry out for our attention. How many of these sources have been around since the beginning? How many of these are inspired and blessed by God? Think about that for a while.
What is the last message you heard? Was it from a news station about some unrest in the world? Was it directions to a place you are traveling? Was it a new recipe to try so you can make delicious food for your family? Was it a phone call advising you that a loved one had been in an accident? Was it the alarm clock telling you it was time to get out of bed? Was it a preacher telling you to repent?
Wisdom is all around us making the world a better place. We just need to be in tune with that truth. Wisdom is not a commodity; it is a way of life. When we seek wisdom, we are asking God to lead our life. We are opening ourselves up to being partners with God. We hunger for a relationship and for understanding about life.
I loved verse 30, “I was the architect at his side. I was his constant delight, rejoicing always in his presence.” Can you imagine being at God’s side day after day? Wisdom had it figured out. She rejoiced. We should also rejoice because we have God’s presence available to us as well. He is all around us. He is inside us. How can we not help but rejoice?
We are again called to listen to wisdom’s instruction. We are wise when we do not ignore it. When we find wisdom, we find life. We are blessed when we listen. When we find wisdom, we find favor from the Lord. How many more blessings do we need before we want to seek wisdom?
Let’s pray … Father God, thank you for your wisdom. Thank you that you make it easy to find, if only we start searching. Help me to be more discerning and not waste time trying to recreate the wheel. You have provided the solutions to my problems. I need to find wisdom to figure out those solutions. Use me Lord to be someone’s solution today. Make it abundantly clear to me who that someone is and what their needs are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
